Celebrate Ghandi’s 150th birthday with Illinois Theatre and the College of Education

Illinois Theatre and the College of Education are present Gandhi, King and Our World Today, an evening of honoring the work of Mahatma Ghandi on October 2nd from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Spurlock Auditorium.

First, there will be a staged reading of Unexpected Contact, a play written by Gandhi’s grandson, Rajmohan, a research professor at the College of Education. (Also, did you know that Ghandi’s grandson is a professor here?? I did not.)

The reading will be followed by a panel discussion titled Is the Dream Alive? featuring James Anderson, Dean of the College of Education; Ronald Bailey, Chair of African-American Studies; and Cynthia Oliver, Professor of Dance and Associate Vice-Chancellor for Research in the Humanities, Arts, and Related Fields. The panel will be moderated by Rajmohan Gandhi.
