Champaign Central High School selected to perform at the International Thespian Festival this June

Champaign Central High School is one of only seven schools invited to perform at the International Thespian Festival, which takes place June 19th through 23rd at Indiana University in Bloomington. More than thirty productions were screened and competed for the seven available spots. An invitation to perform on “High Schools Biggest Stage” is considered a huge honor.

Under the direction of LaDonna Wilson, CCHS will be performing Roald Dahl’s Matilda: The Musical.The other productions that will be showcased at the festival include The Color Purple, Damn Yankees, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Mean Girls: High School Version, Antigone in Munich, and Lend me a Tenor.

The event is produced by the Educational Theatre Association, which is home to the home to the Educational Theatre Foundation and International Thespian Society, an international non-profit that “provides essential financial support to enhance theatre education, expand access, and foster racial equity.”
