Yesterday, both Champaign and Urbana Park Districts announced the inevitable: pools will not open this summer, and events and summer programming are canceled. Urbana has set a date of July 31st to reevaluate, but Champaign has extended cancellations for the full season.
Trails and outdoor areas, as well as dog parks, tennis courts, and disc golf will remain open. Both park districts are working on creating virtual programming, and will share those options as they come available.
