Sinfonia da Camera, the chamber orchestra in-residence at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, is a tremendous outfit that we’re fortunate enough to have present here in Champaign-Urbana. Lead by Maestro Ian Hobson, the orchestra is set to kick off its upcoming season at KCPA on Friday, September 20th, presenting Rhapsody in Blue at 100 within the programming at PYGMALION. The last performance Sinfonia participated in was their first-ever outdoor show at Champaign Park District’s Hessel Park in July as part of The ILLIAC. If you’re new to the orchestra, I would highly recommend checking it out and giving it a shot if this is unfamiliar territory, you won’t be disappointed.
