City of Urbana announces 2016 Lunchtime Food Truck Rally Series

Starting April 26th, downtown Urbana is bringing back their famed lunchtime food truck event series every last Tuesday of each month through October at 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m at the Urbana Civic Center until October.

From the City of Urbana’s website:

Gourmet food trucks from around the Urbana-Champaign area will converge on the Urbana Civic Center located at 108 E. Water Street on the last Tuesday of each month in April, May, June, July, August, September and October. This series of events, brought to you by the City of Urbana Community Development Department, will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.

There will be both indoor seating (inside the Civic Center) and outdoor seating (under tents and on picnic blankets in the grass west of the Civic Center) and access to restrooms. In addition to the food trucks, performers will be stationed around the event to provide music and entertainment.

“We’re excited to present this type of event to downtown Urbana over the lunch hour and during the work week,” commented Urbana’s Marketing Coordinator and Director of Urbana’s Market at the Square Natalie Kenny Marquez. “Our goal is to get folks out of their offices and to Urbana’s Civic Center to socialize, soak up some sun, and enjoy a great selection of C-U’s finest street food.”

There is no admission fee and this event will be great fun for all ages.
