Columbia Street Roastery unveils Pygmalion Festival blend coffee

First, Pygmalion Pilsner by Triptych. Now, we have custom Pygmalion Festival blend by Columbia Street Roastery.

The blend will be available at the festival — as Columbia Street will be set up at TECH and MUSIC throughout the week and into the weekend. Plus, you can pick it up at the store, through their website, through Polyvinyl Records’ website, and elsewhere.

Rightous.

Editor’s Note: UPDATE: 9/22: We have information about the blend from CSR, which is as follows:

The Pygmalion Blend comes our partners in Colombia. What’s really interesting about the blend is that all the beans come from the same farm — but the distinctly different flavors of the blend come from how the coffee was processed and how we roasted the beans. We took two different processed Colombia coffees (from the same farm). One being a washed processed coffee, and the other being a natural processed coffee. We took the washed coffee and roasted some dark and some light. Mixed that in with the natural processed coffee, roasted at a medium roast, to create the Pygmalion Blend.

What you get is a bold flavor from the dark roasted Colombia, soften by the caramel smoothness of the traditional Colombia topped off with the fruity sweetness of the natural processed Colombia coffee.

The reason we picked our Colombian farmers is because they not only produce amazing coffee but they have unheard of ethical business practices (in the coffee world). They pay their workers 3x the minimum wage of Colombia, provide each worker insurance in case of injury on the job (unheard of in the coffee world), and provide schooling for the children of their pickers.

With the Pygmalion Blend you get a truly unique flavor profile at the same time you are supporting farmers who are doing the right things.
