The Champaign-Urbana Astronomical Society is opening a new observatory in Tolono, on April 21st. The ribbon cutting will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21st on site and the public is invited to attend.
CUAS originally built an observatory on this site in 1992. This new building will be more accessible, feature new renovations, and be home to a 16-inch reflecting telescope, as well as a 14-inch computerized telescope.
The club will have the telescopes working in both buildings on the evening of April 21st, weather permitting.
