Dallas & Company allegedly closing after Halloween (but not due to the pandemic)

Dallas & Company, the all-things-costume-and-other-amazing-prop store in Midtown Champaign, is allegedly closing after Halloween.

An employee is confirming this news in this Spotted in Chambana thread, which we believe does hold some water as a source, though there hasn’t been an official announcement by the store at this moment. It is noted that this closure is not due to the difficulties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, but simply that the owners would like to retire.

Their Facebook page and website are not active, which could be an indicator that the store is indeed closing for good.

We have reached out for comment from Dallas & Company but have not heard back at this time.

UPDATE: October 27th, 9:03 a.m.

The News-Gazette’s report confirms this news that Dallas & Company is indeed closing for good. The store’s last day is Saturday, October 31st, and they will have a liquidation sale in December, which leads me to believe that this isn’t a situation where someone will buy the business and continue to operate it after the Dallas’ retirement.
