With the frigid temperatures this week, some of the organizations that serve the vulnerable in our community are facing a higher demand for warm winter gear. If you have some extra items in your home, or are able to purchase new items, here are a couple of places to donate:
- Daily Bread Soup Kitchen is in need of gloves and mittens. You can drop them off any day of the week between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at 116 North First Street at the back door on the alley.
- Cunnigham Township Supervisor’s Office at 205 W Green in Urbana is taking clean coats, scarves, hats, and gloves/mittens to add to their free rack outside their office doors. They especially need coats for men and boys.
