Drop boxes are now available for voting in Champaign County

If you have a mail in ballot for the consolidated election in Champaign County, you can now utilize the drop boxes that were added throughout C-U during the 2020 election cycle.

So many people used them last fall, but there was no state law that authorized their use after November 2020. Last week, Governor Pritzker signed HB 1871 into law, which allows their use in this election and subsequent elections.

The drop boxes are open now, and will be open until 7 p.m. on April 6th. Here is where you can find them:

  • Brookens Administrative Center, 1776 E Washington St, U, circle drive
  • Champaign Public Library, 200 W Green, C, north of mailbox on State St
  • Champaign Public Library-Douglass Branch, 504 E Grove, C, circle drive
  • CU Public Health District, 201 W Kenyon Rd, C, in east parking lot
