Ebertfest has announced the remainder of the films and guests that will be a part of 23rd annual festival. The theme for the event this year is “Empathy at the Movies”, and it will honor the 10th anniversary of Roger Ebert’s passing.

The festival will open on Wednesday, April 19th with the film Nine Days, featuring director Edson Oda, and producer Jason Michael Berman. Closing the festival is the Oscar winning Forrest Gump, with special guest Mykelti Williamson who played Bubba.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Frank Oz would be one of the featured guests, so the festival is really tapping into my 80s childhood and 90s teens here.

You can find the full slate and schedule of movies at the College of Media website. Festival passes are on sale now through the Virginia Theatre, and individual tickets will go on sale on April 3rd.
