Feeding Our Kids was one organization of 175 across Illinois to receive a $20,000 grant from the COVID-19 Community Collaboration Fund by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. The COVID-19 Community Collaboration Fund focused on “helping the helpers,” and awarding grants to alleviate some of the financial struggles from the pandemic for organizations with missions that focused on access to food, shelter, and care.
Feeding Our Kids aims to fight food insecurity and eliminate childhood hunger among school children across Champaign County. The $20,000 grant will allow Feeding Our Kids to expand how they are able to serve the food insecure in our community and continue to serve children over the summer with summer food bags. Additionally, Feeding Our Kids will be able to serve more students than ever before for the 2021-22 school year.
