Find out what goes on at Beckman Institute at their open house this week

This Friday and Saturday is the Engineering Open House, where you can see all sorts of awesome things that are happening throughout the engineering campus. But did you know there’s also an open house happening at Beckman Institute? They hold it every other year in conjunction with the EOH, and it’s a great opportunity to check out what happens in that giant building on the north end of campus. I was always a bit intimidated by Beckman when I was an undergrad. Most of my studies kept me in older buildings on the main and south quads, and Beckman was this looming shiny building off in the distance, where lots of important scientific things were happening.

Events like this make it an accessible place for the community, and most importantly kids who might one day consider going into STEM related fields. There will be numerous interactive exhibits, which you can read more about here.

Open House hours are Friday, March 8th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, March 9th, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
