Garro’s slings a good Italian beef

The new food truck Garro’s Taste of the City serves Chicago eats at the corner of Washington and Lierman in Urbana. Garro’s menu has themed names for the food: Bulls beef, Al Capone chicken, City dog, White Sox burger, and more.

I love Italian beef sandwiches, so I ordered the Bulls beef combo ($9.99). The combo included a sandwich with a choice of a side of fries and a Faygo soda. If you don’t want the combo, just the sandwich is $7.99.

Garro’s Bulls beef had lots of options to customize the sandwich: dip or not dip, hot or mild peppers, and cheese or no cheese. I had mine dipped, mild, no cheese. The sandwich was such a juicy Italian beef with wonderfully soggy bread, delicious thinly sliced beef, and a nice giardiniera crunch. The fries were fried to order and served piping hot.

The menu also includes gyros, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, wings, sandwiches, and a beef pizza puff.

Here’s the posted menu.
