Hendrick House Farm, the ten-acre Champaign farm with sustainable agriculture, is permanently ending operations at the Rising Road farm in the next month or two. The farm provided seasonal organic produce to Hendrick House residents, diners at Hendrick House contracted-service locations, Betsy’s Bistro locations, and the Champaign-Urbana community through CSA. The abrupt closure will affect the farm’s CSA; those who signed up for a Hendrick House Farm CSA will not receive produce this season and will need to request a refund.
In addition, the cafeteria-style restaurant Betsy’s Bistro at The Fields inside the Carle/Health Alliance building will also close; the signage has already been removed. Carle will soon take over the space with a new name.
