Here’s why Maize is an awesome lunch spot

Monday is a work–at–home day for myself and my husband, and it’s the only day of the week where that happens, so we take advantage by having a little lunch date each week. Today’s lunch choice was Maize, and it really is the perfect place to grab lunch. Here’s why.

1. It’s quick. We got in and out in about 30 minutes. If you’re someone who has a very specific time limit for your lunch, you can totally accomplish an enjoyable lunch out with others without feeling like you have to inhale your food.

2. It’s relatively inexpensive (and filling). My taco and gordita cost about $9 total, and I couldn’t even finish. It might have had something to do with all the chips, but that gordita had a serious amount of filling in it for just $5.

3. It’s easy to try new things. Their large a la carte menu makes it easy to combine an old favorite (my taco mexica with carne asada) with something new (gordita chiccarron). You can be adventurous without feeling like you’re spending a bunch of money on something you’re not sure you will like. Though honestly, I have yet to eat something at Maize that I don’t like.

The only downside of the Maize lunch is resisting their delicious margaritas. I mean, I’m not judging if you go ahead and throw caution to the wind and order one for lunch on a Monday, but the day drinking is not always a feasible option for all on a work day. You do you.
