How should the county board spend $40 million?

Champaign County is set to receive $40 million thanks to the passage of the American Rescue Plan Act. The finance committee is meeting on May 25th at 6 p.m. for a study session, and they want to hear from you.

Type up your thoughts in 250 words or less and send them to [email protected] by May 16th, and your suggestion will be included in the study session packet.

A few things to note, before you ask the board to fund your personal pet project:

  • This is one time funding
  • They are looking for broad ideas, not specific requests. Example: putting money towards dealing with gun violence
  • There will be rules for spending handed down by the federal government, not clear what they will be yet

This is your opportunity to offer your input and contribute to the betterment of our communities!
