FIGHTING ILLINI SCRIMMAGE MOVED BACK TO CAMP RANTOUL ON AUG. 12
A waiver request submitted by the University of Illinois asking for permission to hold Monday night’s Fighting Illini football scrimmage at Rantoul High School was denied today by the NCAA. The scrimmage, which is open to the public, is now scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm on the Camp Rantoul fields located on Wheat Avenue.
In the summer of 2011, an NCAA rule went into effect prohibiting practices at off-site facilities, such as a local high school. Illinois’ 2011 waiver was approved for Rantoul High School and did not apply in 2012 because no off-site practice was planned.
Admission and parking for the scrimmage is free.
