I mean, it’s a share of the title, but it is an absolutely massive accomplishment considering what they lost to the NBA and graduation, and how hard the team got screwed over last year. The Illini took out a surging Iowa team 74–72 tonight after Wisconsin lost to the absolutely dismal Nebraska on their home court. The statistical probability of this happening was listed at anywhere between 6% to infintisemal.
Credit to this team, and the seniors in particular, who really just kept stepping up when it mattered.
I still find Brad Underwood to be weird and with a temper that resembles Bobby Knight. But evidently, he is a good coach.
