Inaugural Champaign County Area Restaurant Week announced for Jan. 29-Feb. 5, 2017

The fine folks at Visit Champaign County have announced the inaugural installment of Champaign County Area’s Restaurant Week, taking place January 29-February 5, 2017. This comes after Urbana and Champaign previously had their own respective weeks, and this time around, it encompasses all of Champaign County, and beyond.

From the press release:

Visit Champaign County to Showcase Area Restaurants During Inaugural Restaurant Week

Champaign, IL – Hundreds of restaurants populate the greater Champaign County area, many locally-owned and unique to the community. Visit Champaign County will celebrate this vibrant culinary scene during their inaugural Champaign County Area Restaurant Week, held January 29–February 5, 2017.

“The Champaign County Area is fortunate to have an abundant amount of dining options representing many price ranges, flavors and cultures,” explains Terri Reifsteck, Vice President of Marketing from Visit Champaign County. “Our first foray into hosting Restaurant Week will highlight the chefs and items that are unique to our community so residents and visitors can find their new favorite dish or date night spot.”

Held from January 29–February 5, 2017, the Champaign County Area Restaurant Week will offer lunch and dinner specials at participating restaurants within the communities served by Visit Champaign County, including all of Champaign County, Monticello and Arthur.

Diners will be able to select from prix-fixe menus with lunch options starting at $8, or dinner with menus at $15, $25 or $35 per person. Restaurants may feature a special menu for the week or offer their discounts on existing menu items. Diners can also participate in an Instagram contest, sharing their pictures and experiences with #CCRestaurantWeek for a chance to win a $100 gift card to their Champaign County area restaurant of choice.

Visit Champaign County is in the process of recruiting area restaurants to participate in the event. As restaurants become available, diners can find information at www.visitchampaigncounty.org/restaurantweek. Restaurants looking for information should contact Terri Reifsteck at 217-351-4133 or [email protected].
