Join the virtual launch of Queer and Trans Migrations on November 19th

The University of Illinois Press and Bookwoman are hosting a virtual launch of Queer and Trans Migrations: Dynamics of Illegalization, Detention, and Deportation at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 19th. Don’t miss the chance to join this important conversation with editors Eithne Luibhéid and Karma R. Chávez and contributors Ruben Zecena, Fadi Saleh, Myisha Arellanus, and Sasha Wijeyeratne.

The following information comes directly from the Illinois Press Facebook announcement:

Eithne Luibhéid and Karma R. Chávez’s edited collection provides a first-of-its-kind look at LGBTQ migrants and communities. The academics, activists, and artists in the volume center illegalization, detention, and deportation in national and transnational contexts, and examine how migrants and allies negotiate, resist, refuse, and critique these processes. The works contribute to the fields of gender and sexuality studies, critical race and ethnic studies, borders and migration studies, and decolonial studies.

Register to attend the lauch. And don’t forget to order the book from Bookwoman’s website. Find out more about the authors here.
