The final Friday Night Live of the summer season is set to take place this Friday, August 23rd, in downtown Champaign. This community event offers a night filled with live music across three different stages from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a variety of genres, with performances by Justin Rondón (folk/jazz/rock/experimental) at 6 p.m. and Curb Service (power trio) at 7:30 p.m. at Market & Taylor, The Wise Guys (rock/soul/R&B) at 6 p.m. and The Painkillers Blues Band (blues) at 7:30 p.m. at Neil & Park, and Emily the Band (sad-girl ukulele pop) at 6 p.m. followed by AllNighter (pop/rock/country/90s) at 7:30 p.m. at Fremont & Main.
In addition to the musical performances, Friday Night Live will feature family-friendly activities, including bubbles by Joyfulbubbles and caricatures by Dan Wild. The event has been a summer staple in the community for over 10 years, and this final installment of 2024 promises to be a memorable evening of entertainment, drawing residents and visitors alike to the downtown Champaign area to celebrate the end of the season.
