Learn about being on a nonprofit board with Community Foundation of East Central Illinois

On March 30th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Community Foundation of East Central Illinois will be hosting their latest Board Bootcamp session at the Champaign Public Library. The session, titled “So You Want to Join a Nonprofit Board” will give you a comprehensive look at what it means to serve on a nonprofit board, with expertise from Rebecca Guyette, Chief Development Officer for United Way of Champaign County, Chris Randles, VP/CFO of Parkland College, and Michelle Gonzales, Special Assistant for Strategic Initiatives at University of Illinois. You’ll learn:

  • The benefits of joining a nonprofit board
  • What skills and expertise are needed most of nonprofit board members
  • Considerations and what questions to ask before joining a board
  • Basic roles and responsibilities of board members
  • How to choose a nonprofit board to join
  • What is expected of board members in terms of time and financial commitment

This is a free event, and it is open to anyone who might be considering this step, just be sure to register ahead of time.
