On Saturday, June 10th, from 1 to 3 p.m., Common Ground Food Co-op is hosting their latest virtual cooking class. This time around, you get to learn to make cheese, which feels like a very awesome skill to have. Instructor Anna Barnes will lead you through the steps to make your own mozzarella and crème fraîche, two items that are very handy to have for summer cooking endeavors (I just planted my tomato and basil plants, so this would compliment nicely). I am familiar with Barnes’ cooking prowess, and she is super knowledgeable and a great person to learn from.

Your class kit purchase ($30) will help support Jubilee Cafe, a weekly free meal hosted at Community United Church of Christ. The cafe is in need of volunteers for the summer, as many of the regular volunteers are students and have left campus. You can sign up here, if that’s something that interests you.

Register now to reserve your kit, then you’ll pick it up on June 9th from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Flatlander Classroom.
