Local creators have a new podcast for you: I’ve Been Meaning to Listen to That

Nowadays, it seems like everyone with an internet connection is starting a podcast. However, when I come across a new one with some wicked potential—especially when they’re local—I feel compelled to share! It’s time for your ears to meet I’ve Been Meaning to Listen to That, a podcast by CU natives Andrew Ambrose Lee and Ezra Blue Ward. In their new podcast, these Centennial High alums go through, you guessed it, the albums that they’ve always meant to get into but somehow left on the back-burner. Past albums include Abbey Road, Dark Side of the Moon, and Beyoncé’s Lemonade.

In a conversation with the hosts, Ward and Lee both described themselves as late bloomers when it came to discovering “popular” music. However, the podcast has become more than a place for them to catch up. It has come a place for them to “explore and expand our friendship.” In conversation and on the podcast, Lee calls the podcast a conduit for learning about themselves and their friendships as much as its about listening to good tunes (the podcast has BSE or “Big Sleep-Over Energy” the hosts told me).

If you are interested in checking out these local content creators, you can find their podcast and links to their social media at their website here. They can also be found on most podcast platforms (Apple, Google, Spotify, and Stitcher). If you like podcasts like Punch Up the Jam, then I’ve Been Meaning to Listen to That is probably one for you!
