Look at the focaccia on this sandwich from Espresso Royale

A sandwich with thick focaccia bread, turkey, and tomatoes is sitting on a white wrapper.

Usually I’m a little wary when my sandwich bread is this thick. I worry that the filling is not going to be able to keep up with the bread. But you can give me this much focaccia any day. It honestly doesn’t matter sort of sandwich it is encasing. As a side note: this particular sando did have a healthy quantity of turkey and tomatoes, with pesto that just soaked right into the focaccia. These sandwiches are wrapped up and available to eat cold, but you can have them grilled it and of course that’s what you should do.

Another side note: Espresso Royale Village Green has named their sandwiches after the Six Pack dorms (RIP). Of course, I had to go with the Hopkins sandwich. I spent my first year at U of I there, and the little guy is still standing strong among the big shiny new brick Ikenberry Commons buildings that have replaced Forbes and Garner.
