Flex your foodie and creative muscles and make a literary masterpiece for the Champaign-Urbana Edible Book Festival, sponsored by the U of I Library. Anyone in the community is invited to make an edible creation that can be “inspired by a favorite tale, involve a pun on a famous title, or simply be in the shape of a book (or scroll, or tablet, etc).” Check out our review of the event from a couple of years ago to get an idea of what to expect.

The festival will be held at Martinelli’s Market on April 1st, where there will be judging, public viewing, awards, then of course eating. The festival serves as a fundraiser for Wesley Food Pantry.

You don’t necessarily have to register, but if you do it helps them plan for how much table space will be needed. So just go ahead and register. Find the tentative schedule of events on the U of I Library website, and follow the festival’s Facebook page for updates.
