Mhondoro Rhythm Success is an uplifting Zimbabwean pop music ensemble based in Champaign-Urbana. The band performs popular music from Zimbabwe by artists such as Thomas Mapfumo, Oliver Mtukudzi, and John Chibadura. Its members are either from Zimbabwe, have lived there, have studied music there or just wanted to try and play something completely different.
The band’s music features danceable grooves and multi-layered melodies that are sure to get you moving. Their performances are energetic and engaging, making for a memorable live experience.
