In honor of National Pretzel Day, here are some pretzels in Champaign-Urbana that we’ve recently reviewed.

Anya liked this warm basket of salty pretzel bites in her review of The Axe Bar. The Downtown Champaign axe-throwing bar serves this tasty app with a cup of beer cheese.

At Cool Bliss Popped Bliss on Neil Street in Champaign, find more than just popcorn. I love the shop’s four-pack of chocolate-covered pretzels. The chocolate coating completely covers these pretzels — even the bottom — plus an extra drizzle.

In Carl’s review of the German-inspired restaurant Horsch Radish, he enjoyed this scratch-made pretzel’s crunchy exterior and pillowy center. Topped with an extremely fine salt, Horsch Radish’s pretzel appetizer comes with compound herb butter and Riggs bier cheese.

Seven Saints has a pretzel appetizer that Carolyn recommended in her list of good sharable foods. Served with jalapeño cheese sauce and spicy brown mustard, the pretzel app can be ordered as a half order with two pretzels or a full order of four.
If you count pretzel buns on National Pretzel Day, then go for my favorite pretzel bun: Art Mart’s ham and Gouda sammie or the other pretzel-bunned handhelds we like: Harvest Market restaurant’s balsamic portobello burger with grilled halloumi cheese, Hopscotch Bakery’s breakfast pretzel sando, and Whisk’s chicken bacon ranch pretzel sandwich. For a very relaxing pretzel bite, try cannabis-infused savory hard pretzels.
