As of Friday, April 28th, BOAST, LLC. will be closing all U of I locations of Einstein Bros. and Nic’s Cafe. From the Illini Union:

After a 10-year partnership with BOAST, LLC., operating on campus as Einstein’s Bros. Bagels and Nic’s Cafe, the owners of these licenses have decided to permanently close all of their University of Illinois campus locations (Illini Union, Armory, Seibel Center, Vet Med, and Williard Airport).

This difficult decision arose as a result of the new economic realities coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic and will be effective Friday, April 28, 2023.

“We are saddened to lose such a strong partner because Einstein’s Bros. Bagels has worked diligently to support the University of Illinois and the entire campus community, said Becki Salzman, Director of the Illini Union. “We will work to refill these campus locations as quickly as possible and wish BOAST, LLC the best in the future.”
