University of Illinois alum and professor Damian Duffy and alum/former professor John Jennings have won a 2021 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story or Comic for their graphic novel Parable of the Sower, adapted from the Octavia Butler novel.
We reviewed it in 2020. Krannert Center for the Performing Arts will present an operatic adaptation of the novel next month.
