Parkland Pride is hosting a drag show this Friday

The event, which is open to the public (and all ages*) is from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre. Doors open at 7 p.m, and there will be a meet and greet with the performers from 7:30 to 8, prior to the show itself.

From Jessica Jackson, a staff advisor to Parkland Pride, “Many in Parkland’s community and our local community have never experienced a drag show. This is a way to invite others into an entertaining event that is a safe space and identity-affirming environment for LGBTQ+ folk. It’s also a way for Parkland College to affirm our support of Parkland Pride students, LGBTQ+ folks at Parkland, and in our local community.”

Tickets are just $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-17, and free to children 6 and under. If you’d like to participate in the meet and greet — which of course you would — it’s an additional $3. You can purchase tickets now at the Student Union, or at the door Friday evening, and ticket sales will support Parkland Pride activities throughout the year.

*While the show is for all ages, some music may contain adult language.
