The Prairie Crossroads Blues Society (PCBS) is hosting its annual 2024 Prairie Crossroads Blues Fest, set to take place at Bunny’s Tavern in Urbana on Friday, August 9th, and Saturday, August 10th. This two-day event promises a stellar lineup of local, regional, and nationally touring blues acts, offering a free admission experience for all attendees. However, donations are encouraged to help fund the fest and contribute to the Blues in the Schools (BITS) Education Fund, with 10% of any profits supporting this cause. The festival schedule is packed with blues talent, kicking off on Friday with a Blues Jam hosted by The Painkillers Blues Band, followed by the Keith Harden Band featuring Andy Burnett and Billy Galt. Saturday’s performances include Rory Book and The Volumes, The Wise Guys, Cobalt Blues Band, and headliner Funky Mojo Daddy, led by Kenny Kinsey of The Kinsey Report.
The Blues Fest is not just a celebration of music but also a community effort to keep the blues alive and thriving. The event highlights the importance of community support, with donations directly impacting the ability to bring high-quality blues music to the area and fund educational initiatives. The event attracts fans of all ages, coming together to enjoy the soulful rhythms of the blues. The headlining performances: the Keith Harden Band on Friday and Funky Mojo Daddy on Saturday, are poised to deliver unforgettable sets. Head to Bunny’s Tavern for a weekend of music, community, and support for the blues.
