J.W. Martin presents two pop art collections of acrylic on canvas paintings for this show. The first collection “Modern Case Study,” presents a visual institutional style case study on the early stages of the design process for Mid-Century Modern icons, such as the Eames Lounge chair and Vespa scooter. For the second collection “intercourse,” J.W. draws inspiration from the relationship between language and its environment, and portrays a city as a tablet with a writing system that demands to be felt.
