A few months back, I got an email from a fella who wanted to know dirty trade secrets. How does SP work? How do we function? What’s the structure?
Naturally, I was all like, “What? I’m not giving you my cherished secrets on how to successfully navigate the incredibly profitable medium of online news journalism!”
But then, he explained: they wanted to do something for Decatur and Macon County, similar to how we do it at Smile Politely for C-U and Champaign County: hyper-local, with an emphasis on the people, places, and things that make our communities into what they are.
So, of course — I obliged.
Six months later, our friends to the Southwest have Re:Decatur. And from the looks of it, it’s off to a great start.
