October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and State Senator Scott Bennett is sponsoring a cell phone drive throughout the month to support victims of domestic violence. From the press release:
Bennett has partnered with Courage Connection in Champaign to receive cell phones, chargers, and other phone accessories to be collected throughout the month of October. Donated cell phones are given to people dealing with domestic abuse and are used as emergency 911 phones.
There are several places throughout his district where you can drop off your used phones and accessories, just make sure to clear out all of your personal information first.
