On March 24th at Krannert Center, Sinfonia da Camera will present “English Painter, Poets, & Playwrights, with a little help from Lyric Theatre at Illinois. The performance will begin with three pieces:
Walton: Portsmouth Point Overture, inspired by Thomas Rowlandson’s painting of the same name
Bridge: There is a Willow Grows Aslant a Brook, inspired by Shakespeare’s Hamlet
Coates: London Everyday Suite, inspired by London’s Convent Garden, Westminster, and Knightsbridge
For the second portion of the evening, enjoy Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury with collaboration from Lyric Theatre.
