On Thursday, June 20th, the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts will host a special Juneteenth edition of its Uncorked series, featuring Chicago’s Billboard chart-topping singer and songwriter, Syleena Johnson. The event, presented in collaboration with Illinois Soul 101.1 FM, promises an evening filled with soulful music and celebration.

The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. with a cash bar, promotional giveaways, and music provided by Illinois Soul. At 6 p.m., Grammy-nominated R&B recording artist Syleena Johnson will take the stage at Stage 5. Her impressive career includes 11 albums and collaborations with notable artists such as Kanye West, Cam’ron, KRS-One, Twista, and Musiq Soulchild. Her latest single, “Black Balloon,” is an inspiring piece of contemporary R&B and soul.
