Smile Politely

Sleepy Creek Vineyards to host concerts this Summer

Concert June 4th @ 8 PM: The Two Man Gentlemen Band- a modern rhythm & blues/swing duo out of Brooklyn, NY; they “prove that making old-fashioned music needn’t be polite or predictable” (Time Out New York). Dressed in vaudeville suits and singing about naughty behavior, the fun rowdy duo entertains audiences with a modern take on early jazz, blues, and swing. In 2009 The Gentlemen made their radio & television debut on the Bob & Tom Show and opened a handful of concerts for the Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, & John Mellencamp summer tour. Seats $12. www.thetwogentlemen.com

Music by Lehto & Wright. July 9 @ 8 PM: A virtuosic guitar duo and percussionist play a cross pollination of traditional folk, jazz, classical, blues and pop. Seats $12.

Concerts take place in Sleepy Creek’s tasting room & first come/first serve seating begins at 7 PM. Special Group Rates Now Available!! 6 or more people receive $2 off each seat when reserved together and paid for in advance, plus the group has a reserved table. It seems like some folks in the CU area are growing tired of the always hoppin’, sometimes rowdy downtown scene in Champaign or Urbana. Come find an equally interesting and unique place to relax not far from home. Parking is never a problem (plus it’s free…), and it is a beautiful place to enjoy the weather-without traffic; the only traffic you’ll encounter is Echo the cat catching frogs, or one of the otters dragging branches through the pond.

At Sleepy Creek guests take a free wine tasting, can share a bottle of wine, enjoy a great selection of beers, tea, or coffee, plus locally made cheese varieties & crackers. Bring along a picnic any time, enjoy free Wieners ‘n Wine Fridays from 5-8 PM and free music Sundays from 2-4 PM, sit outside near the pond, take a winery tour and waltz through the vineyards, or just enjoy our air-conditioned gift shop/tasting room and Hayloft Art Gallery upstairs. Come spend an hour or the day with us : )
