Sooie Bros Bar B Que Joint is now open in their new location near the corner of Neil Street and Kirby. Previously, the barbecue joint was open in 2022 in North Champaign, but now the restaurant has moved near to the University of Illinois campus.
Last night, I visited the new space and ordered the spare rib dinner. Spoiler: it was delicious.
Sooie Bros’ spare ribs could be ordered as a half, third, or quarter slab, and I ordered the 1/3 slab rib dinner for $13, which came with fries, coleslaw, and beans. The smoky meat was so tender, and the sauce was sweet and peppery. It was a tasty first meal at the new location, and I’ll definitely be back for more.
