Sticky Rice is opening a second location on Green Street

The exterior of a weather beige building on Green Street has a new sign reading Sticky Rice. The windows have brown paper over them.

Sticky Rice restaurant will soon have a second location in Campustown. The new restaurant will open in the old Mandarin Wok spot on Green Street beside Sakanaya. This Sticky Rice location will offer a smaller, more casual menu of Lao-Thai cuisine than the original location and is anticipated to open late this summer.

Sticky Rice first opened in 2018 and will celebrate six years in Downtown Champaign this July. For more about the restaurant, check out this interview with the owner Mickie Phetchareune, our review of noodles, fried rice, and more, takeout recommendations, Louise’s cosy curry sampler, and my everlasting love for the restaurant’s pad lard nar here, here, and here.
