Submit your artwork to the Town & Country Amateur Art Show

A colorful acrylic painting of a bird with a blue and orange background is hung on the wall. To the right of the painting is a purple "Best in Show" ribbon. The photo is taken at an angle, so the image is receding into the distance on the left.

The Champaign Park District is currently accepting submissions for the annual Town & Country Amateur Art Show. Are you a hobbyist who wants to start exhibiting? This is a good place to start.

Here’s a video from last year:

Here’s more info from the CPD website:

Part of the fun of making art is displaying it. Budding artists and art enthusiasts are encouraged to enter their work in this local amateur show. There will be a recorded critique by the juror on the last day of the show. The juror will discuss the art, point out good technique, and offer helpful suggestions to those artists wishing to refine their talent. Town & Country shows are held throughout the state to encourage quality work by amateur artists. Blue ribbon winners from local shows are eligible to participate in the State Town and Country Art Show in the fall.

Submission fees are $10 for your first entry, and $8 for each subsequent one. You can read about framing and hanging requirements on CPD’s website.

The deadline to submit is March 10th; the exhibition is April 1-29. Find the entry form here.
