Take Back the Night is happening April 26th

R.A.C.E.S. is hosting it’s annual sexual violence awareness event on Thursday, April 26th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. beginning at Lincoln Square Mall, and ending with a speak out at the IMC. Here are the details from the Facebook event:

Take Back the Night is an event aimed at raising awareness around sexual violence and calling for its end by bringing together survivors, community members, students, and other supporters.

Schedule:
Thursday, April 26th
5:30pm Gather on the west side of Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana (intersection of Race and Green Streets)
6:00pm March Begins
7:15pm (approximately) Rally and speak-out will follow the march
The speak-out will take place at the Independent Media Center (202 S Broadway, Urbana, IL 61801)

EVENT IS OPEN TO EVERYONE
The march is a loop starting outside Lincoln Square Mall and ending at the Independent Media Center. The total length of the route is 2.6 miles.

We will march in inclement weather, barring dangerous conditions.

Come early to make your own sign for the march! We will have a poster making session from 5-5:30 outside the RACES office (suite 154 A Lincoln Square).
