On June 24th, cancer researchers, clinicians, and survivors with gather at the I-Hotel and Conference Center for a Cancer Survivor Summit. The event is sponsored by the center’s Cancer Research Advocacy Group — a group of survivors and others who have been personally affected by cancer. The group “provides a vital perspective in the fight against cancer, offering input into fundamental research, clinical trials, outreach, and education and sharing information with cancer survivors, researchers, and clinicians.”
The day will include featured speakers, including:
- Noel Arring – Associate Professor, College of Nursing, University of Tennessee, Knoxville
- Neil Iyengar – Medical Oncologist, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
- Erik Nelson – Associate Professor, Molecular and Integrative Physiology, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
There will also be a survivor panel, as well as roundtable discussions on survivorship. The full schedule is available on the Cancer Center at Illinois website.
The summit is free, but registration is required.
