The Kingfisher UIUC student group has been fundraising to create a costume for their proposed (and student– and faculty senate-approved) replacement mascot, the belted kingfisher. Students, working with faculty, have completed the body component of the suit, and it looks great! They’re still building the head, hands, and feet.
