On December 4th, from 1 to 5 p.m., The Land Connection is hosting Planning for Agritourism in Illinois, a workshop for local farmers interested in bringing an agritourism element to their businesses. From the press release:
Agritourism is a business model that is growing in popularity in Illinois as farmers recognize the need
to diversify their operations and supplement their farm incomes. Combining agriculture and tourism,
agritourism offers rural experiences to urban residents and economic diversification to farmers.
Planning for agritourism requires a forward-thinking, locally-driven process and we hope to give
farmers interested in adding this enterprise to their farm businesses the tools to help them do so.
The event will be at Curtis Orchard, and will include a tour, information from a panel of experts, and coffee, cider, and doughnuts.
It’s $10 to attend, and those interested can register here.
