Local photographer Larry Kanfer is organizing this new festival, that according the the press release is all about “connecting, competing, and celebrating.” Several Savoy businesses and organizations are participating:
The day begins with FREE activities throughout Savoy: bowling, laser tag, mini-golf, skating, pickleball, Taekwondo, and more! Venues- Old Orchard Lanes & Links, Skateland, HMD Academy, and The Savoy Rec Center, will accept passports from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM with coupons inside for complimentary activities.
After a fun-filled day of connecting with others, away from a screen, participants can head south to Willard Airport for The Human Race 5K on the Runway! A Family Fun Run will begin at 7:30 PM and the 5K will begin at 8:00 PM and end with runway lights illuminating the way to the finish line! An awards ceremony will take place at 9:00 PM.
To end the evening, a community celebration will take place from 6:30-10:30 at Flightstar Hangar, at Willard Airport. Tons O’ Fun Band will perform, as participants celebrate with friends, new and old. Regent Ballroom and Dance Center will dance and provide line dance instruction. Food trucks and kids activities will also be on site.
