The I.D.E.A. Store is moving to Lincoln Square Mall

The I.D.E.A. Store is on the move — they have announced they will be moving to Lincoln Square Mall to the space previously occupied by Art Mart

From the press release:

Idea Store to move to Lincoln Square Mall

The Idea Store, located at 28 E. Springfield in Champaign, is announcing their move to Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana, in the former Art Mart location. “This is an exciting opportunity for our business to expand and connect with new neighbors in Urbana,” says Jessy Ruddell, Idea Store manager. Along with the move, the store is in the process of separating from its parent organization, the Champaign-Urbana Schools Foundation, and forming an independent nonprofit. Vanna Pianfetti, CU Schools Foundation Board Chair says, “The CU Schools Foundation is in full support of this transition and wishes The Idea Store the best as it begins as its own nonprofit.”

“Our new location will more than double our current retail space. We expect to have more foot traffic and much better accessibility for shoppers, donors, and volunteers. We plan to re-introduce our popular educational programming and continue to serve the CU community promoting creativity through reuse,” Ruddell says.

The transition will take place over the summer months with the new location opening in the fall.  The Idea Store will remain open at 28 E. Springfield during the transition period.
