Come February 11th, people in C-U and surrounding areas will have another option for abortion care. Equity Clinic will be run by Ohio OBGYN Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle, and will be located at 2111 W. Park Court in Champaign.
Demand for abortions in Illinois has increased as surrounding states have implemented more restrictions following the Dobbs decision last summer. Planned Parenthood of Champaign County has expanded its services to include surgical abortions, and this clinic will expand access further, not just for out of state patients, but for Illinois residents who live south of I-80. There are very few clinics outside of the Chicago area.
Last week, Governor Pritzker signed a law that would protect patients traveling from other states seeking abortion care, as well as the providers that treat them.
