This Saturday, Toast to Taylor Street marks the first street festival of the year, this being the fourth edition of the independent, woman-run, volunteer-driven series on Taylor Street next to Farren’s Pub and Eatery. The event’s goal has been to help the Downtown Champaign cultural community rebound after COVID, supporting independent artists and makers.

Toast to Taylor has announced its dates for 2024: May 18th, June 22nd (during Pride month, so the theme will be as such as you might expect), August 24th, and September 14th. Each event is free and will feature live music, vendors, and more.

This Saturday’s show kicks off at 4 p.m. with Chicago’s Minor Moon, Sam Cantor’s project that just released a new album, and closes out with Mother Nature, the C-U ex-pats and hip hop duo of Klevah and TRUTH. Here’s the schedule:

  • 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Minor Moon
  • 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. – Rory Book and the Volumes
  • 6 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. – Small Time Napoleon
  • 6:50 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. – Kick It! A freestyle street fashion show by Circles Boutique
  • 7:10 p.m. to 8:10 p.m. – Afro D and the Global Soundwaves
  • 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Kilborn Alley Blues Band
